News About CraftBook Bukkit Status

Hopefully I can end the flood of CraftBook questions.

Latest news (Feb 11, 2011): Hopefully this weekend!

Our milestones are:

1. Reorganize CraftBook code for porting [95-100% complete]
2. Test [in progress]
3. Audit some features, namely to redesign them a bit and update Bukkit accordingly
4. Release a working release

Thank Lymia for her work in reorganizing CraftBook's code for porting.

CraftBook's a SMP plugin that adds:

* Integrated circuits
* Programmable logic chips
* Redstone toggleable areas
* Redstone bridges and doors
* Bunch of other redstone stuff
* Minecart boosters, sorters, and other control blocks
* Minecart behavior modification

Some mods that came after CraftBook have some similar features (BridgeMod, ControllerBlock, etc.).

* I can't say that I will have CraftBook ready by this weekend. It's still possible as of writing, but I'm not going to promise it.
* I have to get WorldGuard 4.x out in some capacity first, and so it depends on how long that takes.
* If you want to help get things done quicker, then you could volunteer as a contributor to either WorldEdit or WorldGuard, because I alone cannot work on three (big) plugins and reasonably expect to release things on time. WorldGuard probably takes 50% of my time too. You can even ask to become a tester (for WorldGuard), as that alone takes a lot of time. I have a very meticulous test procedure though, so ask me.

Good news:

I got some people to help with WorldGuard (and I appreciate it a lot) and WorldEdit is in a somewhat working state, leaving the doors open for me to get Craftbook finished now.

Latest news (Feb 22, 2011):

We are aiming for CraftBook to be available by the end of this Saturday with at least the bulk of the mechanisms (bridges, gates, etc.), integrated circuits, and minecart additions finished. Progress will be made more likely towards the end of the week, but there may be some progress during the week. I know a lot of you had not switched to Bukkit because of CraftBook, so I am now hoping to get everything ready for you within this week.
