i think the imperial city would have MORE stairs to climb down, and earlier in this topic i thought we were trying to get less, but [lift up] and [lift down] could be a good replacement. and maybe we could set it up so the rules and banned items are all on the same floor, in plain view.

or heres another idea i just came up with
sorry for the bad drawing skills i have, but
in this picture, there is the spawn city, but in my idea, there would be 4 of the V bridges all at the same height, and instead of having plots inside the city, i was thinking they could be outside, and that the inside of the city would be an either inaccessible area, or a nature reserve where people could walk through and such and enjoy the pleasant smell of virtual flowers, and also the green squares would be orcworm statues that you would pass on your way out. and also if the plots were on the outside, the big ones in the corners could be rooms for each of the 4 major cities, with either teleporters or railroads. just an idea though

I was asked to make a construction plan of the imperial city, and so created this very rough first impression:
I use 1 pixel as 1 block in minecraft. This map is currently still too rough and blurry to work with. I jsut wanted to give a rough impression how it would be experienced like.
Basicaly, it is possible to scale the city inside minecraft.
Right now, this plan is a little bigger than Acheron.
I need your opinion... is the desicion final and shall i continue working on the map or shall i change the scale or are you comming up with an entirely different concept?

I can't really see the pixels on that image, but as long as the various homes and stores that're in the real Imperial City are able to be recreated as blank plots in-game (i.e. not 4x4 blocks for each home, obviously that isn't practical)

Im more of the creator than roleplayer. I like games where i can customize and generate a lot. Thus is why i love minecraft, garrysmod and spore.

Ok Grintendo said i should post this in the forum thread and i am.
I got here a complete set of imperial city.
This maps are extremely accurate and i have used them myself for modding in oblivion.

We shouldn't have a cluster f*** of player owned plots in spawn... Major cause of lag in spawn.
Instead I suggest a zoned area outside of each exit we have (If we have a big wall..) where players have their shops. It may mean a little more work zoning wise, but it'd reduce crashes/lag within spawn itself a lot.

preventing the use of water/lava should work quite well at reducing lag, I know it caused a lot for me, particularly the fountains at the bottom of the tower
Also, I think most of spawn should be dedicated to low price newb items with a black market with more items in it possibly. Also I think having decorative buildings as opposed to masses of privately owned shops would help reduce lag (although still have the buildings accessible/with interiors to make the spawn more awesome)

Guys, school started again and i didnt have so super much time to work on making a pixel sized map yet, but this is what i got so far.

Lag or not, using minecarts is not an optimal solution. While it may add a touch of scenery and stuff, general server lag causing bungee roping makes minecart rides less enjoyable.
I'd go with the portals for towns/cities (money sink!), and rather sell the (prebuilt) houses in spawn as "teleporter houses". It gives the citizens of spawn the opportunity to advertise their shops where all the guests walk by, and still leaving the actual shop outside spawn.

I don't think the new spawn should be an exact replica of the imperial city, I'd prefer it to be more original and such, maybe we could make our own type of city thing that looks like it
