    This is a general vote - who would agree to a Complete Map Reset?

    Of course, all donator privileges will be transferred (such as zones, compass etc)

    The reset will include (if not already obvious)
    A completely new map, new economy/reset gil.

    Also, keep this spam-free/topic-related.

    Anything you want saving I could send to you in .schematic form to load up in your singleplayer worlds and whatnot. There are also daily backups of the map if you wanted to keep everything. Of course, I'm not saying this reset will happen - just if it did.

    I'm in support of this. Completely clean, untouched, unharnessed, virgin soil? 'twould be a thing of beauty!

    Edit: Ninja'd. Only five cities, total? That would take some of the fun out of the game... building settlements and plots within them is one of the things that keeps interesting things to do in the game. With a max of five, there's suddenly nothing else to do but wander around and gather useless materials.

    5 "Major" Cities max, but perhaps smaller communal villages without the huge 100 block high buildings etc. Something similar to Grintendo / Zzintopia?

    im entirely in support of this, i know you guys have been going around to abandoned houses of banned people and such, but there are still lots of empty house shells that clutter the server plus then the land wouldnt be farmed of all the rescources.

    Yeah, if we copy over only a few creations etc, they'd have an advantage over the other players.

    Also, when/if we copy the spawncity, we'll have to clear the buildings below too.

    Let's say we've only had 200 players log in and spend their gil, if they started with only 100gil, then the max total in the economy would be 20000 ? Or, did we have a sell to shop feature at one point?

    Every one would have the same Gil to start and the economy would rebalance it's self sothat diamonds become worth say 50 Gil instead of the 15 gil that I have seen some go for

    I'm all for a new start, as well as the 5 big town limit. I've seen lots of almost empty towns and full towns that are just deserted.

    Orc: you could always upload the old world on a bunch of file sites, people can look up their creations in single player or just look around the old map if they feel like it.

    Though I hope it won't only be a desert biome, I miss snow biomes on the actual map already ;p

    While I'm all for a map reset (more variance in biomes mostly) I do not think we should do this as soon as 1.4 (and the necessary bukkit/plugin-updates) roll out. We should rather take some time to discuss some of the current "problems" on the server and how to fix this in the new iteration. Examples of these problems are the ridiculous amount of towns that tend to spring up, the disastrously bad economy and the difficulty to get around the map without relying on commands like /home. Only when we have some promising solutions to these problems should we switch and I really, really doubt we could think up of ways to fix them that everyone is happy with within the week.

    That's why there's an Admin Discussion subforum. If you're truly concerned, we could discuss that there, not in the public ones.

    I do like this idea in some aspects, and not in others, some people have worked ssooo hard in this world, I know i dont want Zzintopia to just dissappear Sad

    So maybe a reward system carried over, not that'll give people a huge start ahead, maybe the top 10 richest players of the last world get a reward in the next? or something like that? What a Face

    Sorry, i wasnt just refering to things that people have built, im not that bothered about keeping our town, i just put alot of effort in to it, with the money id earnt from it and id earnt from selling stuff and other things, I was eventually going to spend it on buying something awesome What a Face maybe shell it all on employing a load of newbies to build me a pyramid with a statue of me ontop, or something along those lines... xD

    I know that anyone who made quite abit of money will hate to see it dissappear

    One way to slow down the economy instability is reducing the gil/minute or creating a money sink. If you do the math:
    Average 30 people on
    1-2 gil/min

    between 40-80k gil is passively put into circulation every day. Since there are no money sink apart from zoning, the economy will be flooded with gil. Find a way for players to pay for e.g. perks players want with a limited duration, and you should have a rather stable economy.

    Or have some device of sorts to accumulate a cash flow. I do like the "kill mobs for cash" idea but the 1-2gil/minute thing kills the economy when one just idles and winds up with 50k+ gil.

    once again i agree that that is one way to fix the economy but it may take some time to balance out
