Fresh new resources everywhere!
But if there would be a lot missing what we had been working for, id say no.
Maybe a reset or 1 year rollback for the entire underground area would be cool if the complete reset wont happen

Orc: you could always upload the old world on a bunch of file sites, people can look up their creations in single player or just look around the old map if they feel like it.
may i have further details about this? This doesent seem to be very known else i would see more people writing to eachother about themOrcworm wrote:There's a plugin that allows you to 'rent' commands for so much Gil each use, not sure if it will be updated for 1.4 though.

Ho fucking ray!FillerB wrote:Indeed, it would make people more attached to their cities. Full on wars sound like fun, but I wouldn't set the "teams" in stone. Glorious backstabbing action, mercenaries or diplomacy anyone?
I meant it would be slow in the current world of course it would be instantaneousLizardman wrote:Not really...
If the map is reset, so will our gil, thus the change would be instantaneous.
Lizardman wrote:It can be imported to your SSP. :3

Orcworm wrote:Unless I'm not getting the gist of your post, you're implying Minecraft is in the same finished, polished state that World of Warcraft is in. I think you'll find a good 60-70% of active players have a forum account as well. Of course this proposed reset is not forced, but do you really expect to be playing on the same map forever more on a game like this?
Lizardman wrote:Well, when I first started, it was rather stagnant. Now, I've been seeing a lot more 30+ days. Granted, I'm sure there aren't many users now since we banned quite a bit of em. :3

dont forget about my other argument i included.YarwoodUK wrote:But if we allow people to pay gil to have it transferred, then it'll imbalance the new economy.
Lizardman wrote:Um... the economy is screwed up. That's one of the main issues now. Idlers that got their gil can buy out everything and remain at the top of the world, thus defeating the purpose.
Lizardman wrote:I get your argument now, but it goes back to the same issue: the rich get richer, thus defeating the point of a map restart.
Your right about that zones normal members paid for should be saved and your also right that adding high droprates to formerly rare items to monsters broke a lot of the economy. But it is absolutely undenieable that the server will one day run out of resources. Then eigther the population drops to zero and the server closes, or the map gets changed to provide new fresh resources.Vespasian wrote:People who have zones spent a lot of time and effort making the money to get those areas zoned, is that all going to be wasted?
The economy was fine until the mobs started literally dropping diamonds. I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but I posted that it was stupid and that mobs should only drop the normal stuff like feathers and perhaps food. But instead of simply fixing the mob-drop problem, they say the economy is trashed and let's wipe the whole thing out instead. Why not just fix mob drops?
