So i don't like what the Nether do with the server and i ask me why we have a Nether -.-
    Zombies drop Soulsand
    Skelete drop Netherrack
    Spiders drop Glowstone
so why we need a nether that lagg the server and the only mob that spawn are Zombie Pics the Ghast are still buggy

So i say No to Nether

    what say you ??

EDIT: Don't understand me wrong THIS IS NOT A VOTING TO REMOVE THE NETHER i only want to know you like it or not :p

No thank ye. People have built houses there, have no one done anything but take stuff then MY answer would be no, but since people have started to colonize it would be a shame (to me) to take that away. But thank you for this idea.

It's hard to say how much of the lag is the Nether's fault and how much is the fault of 1.5/bukkit/plugins or the server itself.

Get rid of nether, the nether materials were better when they were rare and not common as dirt.

Normally I'd be all for some hideous underworld dimension, but the nether is a joke.

The lag does seem very similar to what we experienced before when using the Nether. People must be satisfied with multiple worlds, otherwise the plugins wouldn't have become so popular, meh.

i like being to explore the nether but it just ends up very repetitive and gets old i wish notch would add more stuff to it. i voted yes any way because i have yet to experience the lag that seems to be the main complaint.

I like the nether perhaps Orc should sell portals forr 5k so they won't be spammed all over.
My idea to solve the already exzisting portals is to promote a small group of people to a rank with /mc and /god to find the portals.

Am I really the only one who gets how the new Nether plugin works? It seems to be combined with the actual world which makes no loading times meaning NO MULTIPLE WORLDS wich means no lag. The lag spikes appeared before the nether was activated too. You guys are just giving the Nether the fault for the lag even if it isn't it's fault at all. I bet with you guys if you remove it, lagspikes will still appear!

The old plugin wihch was used for a certain time on the old map had multiple worlds so that might have caused lag which was proven by the removal of the Nether. The new plugin combines the Nether with the actual world as already said. This way you see clouds, sun and the moon in the nether. You can also hear thunders there.

    So, Yes to Nether!

Actually Giygas, it's still using the multiple world system, just the new server is a tad faster at handling it.

If it does, then why is there no loading times? Or why are the clouds, sun, moon and noises of thunder in the nether?

    A) There are. You just don't notice them because of the RAM-disk.

If the ramdisk was 35x slower (i.e. the speed of the HDD) you would notice chunks loading.

I think the huge load of different plugins running on the server might cause a little bit more lag than the nether world. Chunks will be loaded by players, if they aren't in the nether then the players will load regular world chunks.
Though, the nether is kinda boring without the ghasts I must admit. x3

As for the rarity of nether items: I could say the same about a certain mod allowing to spawn shit tons of pumpkins when those were supposed to be rare. XD
