TNT is obviously the best tool for griefing, and the worst tool for Admins to deal with, yeah?

Welll.... should there be a way to make TNT NOT destroy the world, would it be possible to legalize it?

I don't know.. I'm really big on PVP and making traps and stuff, and I just believe that TNT, without the ability to mess with the world (like creepers), could be very interesting in both PVP and trapping.

    Yay, Nay?

It already doesn't destroy the world, that's why we have WorldGuard.

    Here's why it's banned:

Guesty makes a stack of TNT
Guesty fills people's houses with tnt.
People cannot remove tnt without blowing their heads off.

if thats the only reason why, then that can be as easy as a rollback, no different than some1 just plain ripping apart a house

That was just my thought, you'll have to wait for Orcworm for an official ruling.

Lol. Staff bomb squad made me lol irl.

Anyway, PvP in pvp-free zones will be an issue but so is flint and steel.

All in all, I'm all for this idea.

Yeah that's the only prob I see.

I mean, I STILL see people lighting others on fire in non-pvp zones.

TNT opens a woooorld of awesome shit, ya know?

As far as griefing and guests are concerned.... I mean... if a Guest only joins the server to grief... how much Gunpowder is he gonna get, ya know?

    Pros:
    - Awesome addition to PVP.
    - Takes the Survival in Survival Multiplayer and skyrockets it.
    - Nice change of pace, perhaps?

    Cons:
    - Grief issues.
    - PVP in non-PVP zones.

I think those cons can be worked out one way or another, no?

    Discuss?

I'm all for it actually, despite my post.

Btw, The tnt will NOT destroy any blocks anywhere; a very strong plugin is in place to prevent that.

    block-tnt=true
    block-tnt=false

    They're the only variables.

    This might help: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/fun-higherexplosives-v1-6-configurable-multiworld-explosion-control-740.6228/

    Features:
Control the size of explosions for TNT, creepers and ghast fireballs.
Control the percentage of dropped items (called yield) from the destroyed blocks, from no items dropped through to one item dropped per destroyed block.
    Optional prevention of terrain damage
    Multiple world configurations
Allows configuration of different blast radii, with different probabilities for each being chosen
Allows configuration of different player damage (optionally with different probabilities for each being chosen)
Allows configuration of different creature damage (optionally with different probabilities for each being chosen)
Item damage can be configured (optionally with different probabilities for each being chosen)
EXPERIMENTAL: Fuse length of TNT can be tweaked.
Some simple control over which areas the modified explosions will happen in

Control creeper, tnt and ghasts explosions (I really miss the ghasts, the nether is so boring :< )
I'd say remove all terrain damage, decrease blast radius and increase damage, ;D

Most of the lag from tnt comes from the instant massive block changes. Just like when you're using worldedit on a large amount of blocks Smile Of course, some will still be there but that will mostly be client lag due to bad graphics optimization.

It's well worth trying, and see how it goes Smile
