Strangest world ever...

I started up a singleplayer world today, and found these craters spread throughout the world

Explanations, anyone?

o.o corrupted world seed maybe?

That looks like a fun world.

What was the seed? I wanna try building there.

I just left the seed blank, I never really input seeds into my worlds. I just let the game pick a random one.

Seed:(gargamel) (spawns you in a cave look around for exit)
Also I build my house on a big floating chunk, died a couple of times, and build a
spiral minetrack down to bedrock where I hit lava and died with a bunch of shit...

Im always trying to get a really strange world by inserting random seeds, because i think unusual worlds are most fun to play. But i rarely ever get a decent result. The best world i generated so far had a bigass mountain right at my spawn that went up sligthly above the clouds and was pretty large.
