less server restarts? just an idea... been on tonight and probly had like 15 server restarts that shit is annoying!

It happens every hour on the hour btw.
But IMO, it should be every 2 or 3.

It is a bit frequent, but not to annoying since they only last a few minutes. But yes, if a 2-3 hourly restart would have no or little difference in performability, let's do it.

After an hour ticks drop to 17, after two hours ticks drop to 14, after three hours ticks drop to 11-12. Below around 15 you start to see mobs acting like they're walking in quicksand. Below 12 you start seeing some block delay.
The optimal amount of ticks is 20, the second server is on a 5 hour timer and is at a constant 20.8/20 ticks, i.e. perfect. Just shows what effect plugins have on a server.

Ummmm, if I may, on the Chaos server I get some pretty big block lag, even after restarts, and mobs barley even move.

I think we need a new restart system. I say this because It restarts 2 times in a row. And takes a while to come back up.

Well this is a huge server, I can imagine it needs a few minutes to start all the permissions, plugins, and the map itself

As Ciphon said, the secondary server takes around 3 seconds to complete a reboot cycle, the main server takes 15-20. The main culprit is the war plugin, so if you want shorter reboots...

Don't you dare remove that war plugin. Took me forever to make that map. Not to mention it's currently not in use because none of us could be assed to stick to the cycle >.>

Yea, the war plugin is definitely worth the 3 minutes of waiting for the server to start back up

Put a poll up / check usage statistics. No sense in keeping such a hog as War if no one uses it. Yes it sucks for the people who put effort in it, but all good things must come to an end. Saying that; now that we have Chaos, I don't see the necessity for War.

Isn't being an indie (read inexperienced read nooby) coder not even more of a reason to keep to "mainstream" guidelines so the code can be more easily checked/debugged by those who actually know what they are doing?
