Hello fellow role-player’s! This is a thread dedicated to 'OOC' (Out Of Character) chat, here is a place where role-player’s can get together and discuss idea, plans and critical events. This thread is dedicated to discussion and still falls under the rules specified at the beginning... i personally hope that this will all be successful and become a hub for a new breed of player thank you and let’s get discussing!!! XD

Cool I like this, I just hope that we can expand this into the server and get a small group of people dedicated to RP on the server which would be fun.

It was admittedly on another forum (though Pete advertised it here). Think your basic B-scifi movie with mutants wrecking havoc. Hijinks ensued.

Died out because Pete moved on to other things. I'm still in about four other stories on that forum. One of the RP types in the introduction thread will be modeled vaguely off of the Roll2Dodge system.

Well if we managed to get a small group of rp'ers on the server who would actually do it?

if we mobilise in-game as well as on forum then it might get infectious and more and more people will join...

I want a Roll2dogde game on this forum, since im checking it frequently..

I've never really seen the point in role-playing, not saying you guys shouldn't lol ^^

well just a small detachment of us will do or if this proved to work out we could have a second server dedicated to rp just my thoughts though.

Well it worked quite well on another server... for a while.

I don't think roleplay would work all that well in-game without separate chat channels. You know how "open" our server population is to stuff like this. Besides that admins/mods regularly get spammed to hell and back with requests so I don't think they would be all that "focused".

point noted filler, this was my concern also, but it's not my place to say no so its featured on the forum but i don't think it will work either...

We had separate chat channels sometime ago but it was removed sometime ago. It would be necessary to do so but if a RP server was possible I think faction-based pvp would work best.

it would be good admittedly, but yes seperate chat channel is nesacery, however, in-game rp is still open to over-opinionated trolls that may join the chat and... well... troll

I'm sure there is an option to make a password protected channel(s) so we don't get scrubs joining and ruining the fun.

irc channel? Sure it's a bit of a bother switching between MC/IRC but rp usually isn't one of the most time critical activities.

Why would you need to make a private channel? Just kick the trolls.

I certainly do plan on releasing my own RP soon. :-). First I have to get it into a manageable form. It's based off of the novel I'm writing in a fantasy world, so there's some background information for everyone to familiarize themselves with first.

I suspect when any of us run a detailed campaign, we will need a wiki to keep the background information, maps etc all organized. Should we look into putting on the Orcworm wiki or starting a new sub-wiki?

being on a wiki would be cool, and it would serve as advertisment to people who google "Roleplay forums"

I'm releasing a RP when I'm done with yours Imir, since for me its kind of hard to go from one to another in the same day. ((I think I might die soon I figured out a death for me that won't happen until quite some time))

1. I love the section I check it everyday if I can (i.e if I can't I'm out somewhere.)

2.I'd prefer you call it RP topic but, I love RPing its one of my favourite things to do so I appreciate it that you released your's so quick.

3.As I said up above I do plan on releasing my own soon and hope many will join me or Rulyon

I hope we might even get some people new to RPing to join (always room for more) .

P.S: Good Idea guys a wiki would attract people who like that sortof thing.

Swear i had something to do, reid talked me into getting a rp up here and i've been pre-occupied with revision but im in the clear now, but just throwing the idea of it out now anyone here like the idea of a sci-fi rp based aboard a ship that is basically ran by the roleplayers ( E.g Person A is the captain of the ship, Person B is the Ship's head doctor or something )
