Indeed, that seems to have been the most prominent problem.
If that occurs I have backups all the way through February, but maybe a new map wouldn't be so bad ;p.

jea a new map would not so wrong
so many abandoned and destroyed buildings everywhere and the resources are also consumed all right
so we can make a vote for this ???

very simple answer :p the server have installed the plugin WorldEdit
Loading and saving
WorldEdit can work with .schematic files when saving copies or loading them. The advantage of .schematic files is that they are compatible with a number of other programs like MCEdit, NBTedit, and the Redstone Simulator. The format also supports all of Minecraft's block data and it is documented so that you can implement it in your own programs.
* //save <filename>
* //load <filename>
Both the origin of the copy and your offset to the copy are saved with the file so that you can load it back later on and paste the copy at its original location or relative to you as if you had copied it. You should be familiar with how //copy and //paste store your relative position.
[edit] Save storage
Files are saved and loaded to the schematics/ folder of your Minecraft server (or whatever the current working directory is when you start the server). WorldEdit restricts loading and saving to this folder for reasons of security. Filenames have .schematic appended as an extension automatically. Directories are supported and new subfolders will be created as needed. It is currently not possible to change the folder.
Both commands check the path of the schematic name to see if it is a valid name. Paths can only contain alphanumeric characters and the combination of some allowed characters. The regular expression used to check is ^[A-Za-z0-9_\ \./\\'\$@~!%\^\*\(\)\[\]\+\{\},\?]+$. If the path longer than the underlying system supports, Java will complain with an error and the user will be informed.
Warning: Each user doesn't have their own folder yet.

Maybe just moving the spawn to a fresh area of the map would be better. Meh, I dunno, I run the server but I don't really 'play' on it, so it's pretty much down to you guys. I would probably //save all of the donator zones, but it would be a lot of hassle ;p.

One less Donator zone to worry about... I haven't actually selected mine yet.
I could go either way on the fresh start. True, there would be a lot of nice constructions lost, but at the same time the resources would be fresh once more.

I vote for move the spawn in that case, there are enough untapped resources out there

No building spam around spawn.
We could set a max of citys.
You could build your house without crap in your way.

Might as well just //save the spawn and make a new map if I was going to do that to be honest.

So, iConomy v4 ftw. Reset all the balances. Luckily I have a 5 minute old backup handy, I will be adding amounts manually to the MySQL database, so please just bear with me on that front.
Ranger, download this .jar and overwrite your old one with it, it's the standard 1.3_01 jar:

Yes, map is fine ^^.
Edit: Oh, and please let me know about any bugs / glitches you find in regards to the plugins. If I don't know about them you can hardly expect me to try and fix them.

Turns out teleport 'lag' is due to 1.3 (Notch added MCRegion support by default with this update, it's slowed chunk loading speeds down considerably.)
Warps should be fixed after next restart.
Looking into /pw
Thanks for letting me know.
Edit: Oh, and I have a pretty good hunch that these server hangs (Connection timed out - connection reset in console) are down to the Essentials plugin, I don't know of any alternatives that allow access to basic commands such as /home or /spawn though : /.

Serves me right for relying on flatfile I suppose. Still a little miffed how this 'update' seems to have broken more things than it's fixed (Money gen. being one thing).

If iconomy 2.2 works with 1.3, then that's what I would use; it seems much more simple

Well, 2.2 works, just doesn't work with iChat, so that's that .
